Known as comic duo Laurel and Hardy, his films are classics of silent film comedy. OliverHardy, Laurel - round face and jovial, with a thin mustache - and his sidekick, Stan Laurel, the Thin Man - clumsy, a long face and flashing eyes - were masters of the representationof the absurd.
